Joint efforts for emergency relief in Cambodia
The EXO Foundation donated US$ 2 000 and raised US$ 55 extra from Exotissimo’s staff for the victims of floods in Khmer rural areas.
By the past months of September and October heavy rainfalls had caused shattering floods throughout Cambodia. Due to their poor resources and means to face these type of disasters, over 1.5 million rural people from north and east of the country were severely affected, causing at least 104 deaths and many families to lose their homes and crops.
In view of this catastrophic situation, the EXO Foundation organised a fund raise among the staff of Exotissimo Cambodia and donated the full amount collected plus some extra funds to This Life Cambodia to administer them for emergency relief.
This Life Cambodia (TLC) is an NGO working with rural communities to provide or enhance educational opportunities and directly benefit the lives of children and their communities in Cambodia. Most of TLC’s programs are based in rural areas where floods have caused especially severe damages.
TLC and many other organizations are still working on the recovery of the affected areas. If you wish to contribute to this cause, please click here.
