EXO Guides commit
We are proud that many of EXO Travel tour guides are not only professionally but also personally fully involved in protecting the environment.
On 10th February, more than 100 people gathered to celebrate the inauguration of EXO guides Komisariat (union). For this celebration, EXO guides organized a big rice field clean-up.
EXO Travel, Bali Countryside members, Planet Lover and Trash Heroes volunteers took part in this ceremony, moreover EXO guides had also involved the surrounding communities, children and local government of the area.
Trash bins were distributed in the area, they are labelled #EXOGreenation a name imagined by our guides. Many of them are volunteering & personally involved to raise awareness on environmental protection on their free time, they aim to inspire and engage others with their commitment. One of our main guide even wrote a poem about plastic waste and environment protection that he declaimed in Balinese in front of all the others. These initiatives are a solid proof that we are moving towards a more sustainable future, and EXO Travel is very proud to count such people in its community.
This kind of initiative are not only led in Bali but also in other areas where guides are the first initiators of environmental movements. The Lombok Care Community, led by Pasek Arianta has been around for a few years, their Facebook group counts 750 members! Travel agencies, drivers and guides are taking part in this project, which organizes beach and ocean cleanups involving divers, surfers and local people, raise awareness in schools and in their communities and even have a rock band which is called LCC Band, Lombok ‘Coustic Community.
