Blue dragon is a registered charity which helps children living in the streets of Vietnam, protecting them from human trafficking and childlabor.
The organization created programs to keep impoverished rural children in school as the street children in Hanoi were all migrants from rice-farming areas.
What do they do?
Blue dragon wants for every child to have the opportunity to live their childhood safely and have a proper education.
They offer legal assistance to victims in court, help undocumented citizens to receive legal recognition and offer legal support and services to disadvantaged children. They have changed thousands of lives over the past two decades and helped create 3 national laws in Vietnam to protect children and adults.
Blue dragon offers an education to young children in crisis, help them recover from their trauma and pursue their passions with educational opportunities.
One of the organization’s major goal is to end human trafficking or modern slavery in Vietnam. They rescue victims from this traffick while dealing legally with traffickers. In 2020 they completed their 1,000th rescue of a victim of human trafficking.
Blue Dragon is expanding its services this year to new provinces, including Ho Chi Minh City and Bac Lieu in the south and Nghe An in central Vietnam. By documenting and sharing lessons learned, Blue Dragon is working to create a unified force for nationwide change in Vietnam.
