Clean Up event in Ngapali

EXO Myanmar’s annual staff retreat in Ngapali was a great opportunity to exercise in the field sustainability in action. Waste clean-up activities were organized by EXO staff involving local residents to raise awareness about plastic waste issues and provide some basic information on dealing with waste responsibly.  In Ngapali, 25 EXO staff and 10 staff from Sandoway Resort participated collecting 10 large bags of waste in the process.

A bit further, in Maung Shwe Lay village, a village where our Foundation supports a library project it is 70 EXO staff and 30 local community members who collected 8 large bags of waste. The majority of the waste collected was plastic and the activity helped to sensitize local people to the negative impacts of such accumulation and provided simple solutions to reduce this negative impact.
