The story of Click A Tree begins in Thailand. Click a Tree develops and runs sustainability projects across the globe. These projects include reforestation, collection of ocean plastic, creating habitat for animals, promoting education, empowering women and many more. In total, Click A Tree serves all 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.
What do they do?
Currently, Click a tree has various projects in Ghana, Thailand, Germany and the Philippines. They mostly find their funding thanks to the participation of companies as part of their ESG strategy.
In each country Click a tree not only plants trees but has a “special feature”.
Education
In Ghana, Click a tree created an entrepreneurial school where young people can learn to write business plans, manage their finances and develop a good marketing strategy. Since 2019 the school has trained 20 students each year.
Collecting ocean plastic
Marine pollution is one of the major environmental issues faced by the Philippines. Local people are paid to collect the plastic from beaches, creating local job opportunities. The plastic is weighed, sorted and recycled to create new objects like chairs which are then given to local schools.
Protecting elephant
A female elephant who used to be a working elephant, today fertilizes the forest floor with its droppings during long walks. Additionally, planting trees contributes to create a natural and safe habitat for elephants.
How can you help?
You can make a donation according to the number of trees you want to plant and in which country.
EXO Foundation support
The project in cooperation with EXO Foundation focuses on the reforestation of Southern Thailand. Growing forests here help fight climate change by sequestering CO2, it secures jobs for the local communities and creates habitat to protect the local biodiversity.
The goal of the project is to grow and protect 16 050 trees. These trees will absorb 8,346 tons of CO2 over the course of the next 50 years, create 4,000 hours of work for the local population and reforest an area of about 64,000 sqm.
Tree species are selected in cooperation with local, national and international experts to be as future proof as possible. In total over 30 different tree species will be planted in this project to create a highly biodiverse forest.
