SONNE-International is an internationally operative Austrian development Organisation that was founded in 2002. They work in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India and Myanmar to provide education and training, as this is the basis for a life in dignity. They also contribute to a decrease in poverty, to food security and health care. Sonne International primarily benefits children, adolescents, women, and other underprivileged groups through its projects.
What do they do?
They help vulnerable children or adolescents by giving them access to education from primary, to high school, and eventually to university. The organization also provides basic health care like women’s and reproductive health, food security, awareness, sports programmes etc. Adults can also benefit from skills training and income-generating projects like tailoring, computer training, individual skills training, teacher training etc. They participate as well in the development of rural areas by providing water supply and sanitation and supporting agricultural projects. Finally, SONNE-International participates in disaster relief with the prevention of catastrophes and rehabilitation of disaster victims.
SONNE International attaches great importance to making a “long-term sustainable support” to the community and to help them help themselves. In order to do that they work closely with local partners.
How can you help?
You can help the organization by making a donation directly to the organization.
EXO Foundation support
In 2025 EXO Foundation supported their tuition class program by covering one teacher’s salary for a year to provide consistent educational support to children in the slums of Yangon, in Myanmar.
We also supported their emergency response after the earthquake in Myanmar by providing them with some supplies like tents and making a donation.
